On May 30th, the inaugural China-Pakistan Marine Information Workshop and Training Course officially commenced at HEU. Organized by the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, with HEU as the host institution, the training course saw participation from thirty-two Pakistani researchers engaged in underwater and maritime technology across Pakistan's industrial and academic sectors.

LIU Songzuo chaired the meeting, where QIAO Gang reviewed the history of international academic exchanges and cooperation between the university and Pakistan, while also briefly introducing the teaching and research situation of the School of Underwater Acoustics Engineering. 

LUAN Yigang provided insights into the current status of international academic exchanges and cooperation between the university and Pakistan, along with outlining future cooperation directions.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Niyaz Ahmad expressed great interest and anticipation for the training, emphasizing the diverse backgrounds of the participants and their eagerness to seize this valuable learning opportunity to foster long-lasting friendship between China and Pakistan.

Following the opening ceremony, LIU Songzuo, as the chairman of the training committee, delivered the first lecture to the participants. During the lecture, he introduced the curriculum system of the training course and shed light on various aspects of charming traditional Chinese culture, including Chinese characters, traditional cuisine, and festivals.
