On June 24th, Beijing hosted the National Science and Technology Conference, National Science and Technology Awards Ceremony, and the Academy of Sciences Conference, where the 2023 National Science and Technology Awards were announced. Professor Xia Guihua from HEU's College of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering chaired the DP3 dynamic positioning system's key technologies and applications project, which won the second prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Experts on the appraisal committee praised the project, noting its technology has achieved an internationally advanced level, with some aspects leading globally.
Over a span of 17 years, the team successfully developed the DP3 dynamic positioning system, a critical core equipment ensuring safe and reliable ship operations in challenging sea conditions. This accomplishment has catalyzed progress among leading domestic units and fostered the development of innovative and industrial chains, with an annual output value reaching billions.
