On July 22nd, Vice Minister Huang Yejing of the Hainan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for research purposes. The visit included in-depth discussions on potential cooperation in scientific research and talent development with representatives from Wenchang International Aerospace City in Hainan. HEU’s Vice President Han Duanfeng attended the symposium.
Vice President Han introduced HEU's historical development, educational focus, and disciplinary construction. He highlighted the development of HEU’s Nanhai Institute and provided an overview of the College of Aerospace and Civil Engineering, noting that its predecessor was the Missile Engineering Department of Harbin Military Engineering. Han emphasized HEU’s strong technical foundation in aerospace design, navigation control, guidance, and propulsion. He expressed HEU’s commitment to leveraging its disciplinary strengths, technological expertise, and talent pool to enhance cooperation with Wenchang International Aerospace City, aiming to advance technological innovation and talent development in the national aerospace sector.
Vice Minister Huang briefly described Wenchang International Aerospace City’s current status, key industries, and future development plans. He acknowledged the contributions of HEU’s Nanhai Institute to local talent development, scientific research, and economic growth, and recognized the role of HEU in fostering deeper cooperation between Hainan Province and the university.
Following the discussions, Huang and his delegation toured HEU’s historical exhibition hall and technology achievements exhibition.
