National Key Laboratory for Intelligent Marine Vehicle Technology Established

On August 25, the establishment conference for the National Key Laboratory for Intelligent Marine Vehicle Technology and the inaugural meeting of its academic committee were held at HEU. LIU Aili, a first-level inspector from the Science and Technology Department of Heilongjiang Province, and Vice President YIN Jingwei attended the conference. Fourteen experts in the field, including CAE academicians QIU Zhiming, YANG Desen, XU Qing, and WANG Yaonan, provided advice and suggestions for the laboratory's development.

Representatives from the Science and Technology Quality Department of the State Administration of Science, Technology, and Industry for National Defense praised the laboratory's achievements and expressed hope that it would continue to lead as a national innovation platform, contributing significantly to the growth of China's intelligent marine vehicle industry.

LIU Aili congratulated the laboratory on its establishment and the convening of the academic committee on behalf of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology. LIU emphasized the need for the laboratory to drive technological innovation, respond effectively to national needs, quickly develop new productive forces, support Heilongjiang's economy, and foster high-level talent to establish world-class research institutions.

Vice President YIN Jingwei welcomed the experts and expressed gratitude to the academicians for their ongoing support and assistance with HEU's development. He urged the laboratory to focus on the urgent needs of unmanned and intelligent technologies, enhance research and development in key areas, lead advancements in next-generation intelligent marine vehicle technology, and develop new underwater capabilities with Chinese characteristics.

LI Ye, Director of the National Key Laboratory for Intelligent Marine Vehicle Technology, presented an overview of the laboratory's development. The academic committee commended the laboratory's progress in intelligent marine vehicles and highlighted the need to capitalize on the current technological revolution and industrial transformation. They recommended further consolidation of basic research, intensified development of cutting-edge technologies for intelligent underwater vehicles, and strengthening of industry collaboration to tackle core technological challenges.
