From August 19 to 22, the 9th Hopf Algebra Conference took place at the Qihang Activity Center. Over 100 experts and scholars from more than 20 national institutions, including the University of Science and Technology of China, Zhejiang University, and Nanjing University, gathered to discuss the latest research and future directions in the field of Hopf algebra. YAN Rujian, Vice President of Harbin Engineering University (HEU) and a member of the conference's Academic Committee, along with Professor WU Quanshui from Fudan University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

In his welcome address, YAN Rujian introduced HEU’s history, educational characteristics, and recent achievements in mathematics. He emphasized that China is placing unprecedented importance on basic disciplines and research. YAN noted that HEU would use this conference as an opportunity to leverage its strengths, accelerate the development of fundamental and emerging disciplines, and contribute significantly to the advancement of national science and technology.

WU Quanshui congratulated the organizers on the successful conference and expressed his sincere gratitude for their meticulous planning. He encouraged the attendees to make full use of the platform to enhance communication, deepen collaboration, and explore cutting-edge issues in Hopf algebra, thereby contributing to the advancement of mathematics in China.

The three-day conference featured presentations from 18 experts and scholars. It also included a forum for doctoral students, who shared their research findings. The conference addressed both fundamental and emerging issues in Hopf algebra, offering a valuable platform for domestic researchers to exchange ideas and learn. Additionally, it played a positive role in promoting the development of mathematics at HEU.
