On September 21st, Professor Leon Cizel, the current Director of the Jožef Stefan Institute in Slovenia, was appointed as a visiting professor at our university. Vice President Yu Zhiwen attended the ceremony and presented him with a letter of appointment and a university badge.
Professor Cizel has also served as President of the European Nuclear Society and Chairman of the Board of the European Nuclear Education Alliance. He is a leading expert in Slovenia's nuclear energy sector and a key technical advisor to various international institutions. With extensive experience as a professor at the University of Ljubljana, he has been actively involved in nuclear engineering and the safety of nuclear installations for many years. He oversees the management and operations of nearly 30 branches at the Jožef Stefan Institute. Additionally, he has published over 80 scientific papers, three monographs, and hundreds of popular articles, and he serves as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Science.

Vice President Yu Zhiwen attended the ceremony, where he presented Professor Sciascia with a letter of appointment and the university badge.
Currently, Professor Sciascia is the Director of the Jožef Stefan Institute and has previously served as President of the European Nuclear Society and Chairman of the Board of the European Nuclear Education Alliance. A prominent figure in Slovenia's nuclear energy sector, he is also a key technical consultant for international organizations. He has been a professor at the University of Ljubljana for many years, focusing on nuclear engineering and the safety of nuclear installations. He has published over 80 scientific papers, three monographs, and hundreds of popular articles, and he serves as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Science.
