On October 6th, HEU signed a contract with the Nantong Municipal Party Committee and Government to jointly establish the "Harbin Engineering University Yangtze River Delta Higher Research Institute" in Nantong.

Attending the signing ceremony were HEU officials, including Party Committee Secretary GAO Yan, President SONG Yingdong, Vice Presidents YIN Jingwei and ZHAO Yuxin, Assistant President YIN Hang, and representatives from Nantong, such as Municipal Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the Standing Committee WU Xinming, Mayor ZHANG Tong, Standing Committee Member TONG Jian, Deputy Mayors LING Yi and YU Lizhong, President of Nantong University YANG Yumin, Vice President HUA Liang, and Secretary of the Party Committee at Jiangsu Shipping College XUE Yang.

GAO Yan expressed gratitude to the Nantong Municipal Party Committee and Government for their support of HEU. He emphasized that this collaboration is a significant step toward promoting the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent. HEU aims to leverage its strengths, address the needs of Nantong's industrial development, and focus on key industries in the Yangtze River Delta region.

HEU will deepen cooperation with local governments in areas like technological innovation, industrial development, and talent cultivation. The university plans to mobilize resources from all parties to provide comprehensive support for the research institute's construction, including policy backing, innovative mechanisms, and resource allocation. The goal is to foster influential technological innovations and develop the institute into a high-level base for shipbuilding and marine technology transformation, talent gathering, and core technology research and innovation.

WU Xinming thanked HEU for its ongoing support of Nantong's economic and social development and congratulated them on the successful signing of the Yangtze River Delta Higher Research Institute. He expressed hope that this partnership would harness HEU's professional leadership to enhance high-level innovation initiatives, attract innovative resources, and draw outstanding talent and projects to Nantong, advancing the city’s shipbuilding and marine industry to a world-class level.

 YU Lizhong and YIN Jingwei signed the joint construction agreement for the Harbin Engineering University Yangtze River Delta Higher Research Institute on behalf of Nantong City and HEU.

ZHAO Yuxin and HUA Liang also signed a cooperation agreement representing HEU and Nantong University, respectively.
