From November 15 to 17, the 62nd Higher Education Expo China (HEEC) took place in Chongqing. Representing HEU, Vice President ZHAO Yuxin delivered a keynote speech at the 7th Higher Engineering Education Conference titled "Deepening the Construction of New Engineering and Cultivating 'Engineering' Talents in the New Era." During his address, he engaged with experts on topics such as engineering education reform and development and introduced HEU’s booth at the expo.
ZHAO's presentation provided an in-depth analysis of how HEU is cultivating "engineering" talents for the new era. He highlighted the university’s focus on innovation and quality through initiatives such as the establishment of the School of Future Technology. HEU prioritizes "gold standards" across key areas—majors, courses, faculty, and learning environments—implementing targeted reforms to produce high-caliber graduates equipped with creativity and practical skills.
At the National Forum of Academic Affairs Directors in Universities, HEU officials further detailed the university's "engineering" talent training model. This approach aims to align education with the demands of the modern engineering landscape, preparing students to thrive in evolving industries.
HEU's booth at the expo showcased its talent cultivation achievements through an engaging combination of exhibition boards and student-produced scientific and technological innovations. The boards highlighted HEU’s extensive efforts in educational reform, presenting a pioneering model for higher education in engineering.
Several prominent leaders, including GUAN Peijun and ZHANG Daliang, Vice Presidents of the China Association of Higher Education (CAHE), visited HEU’s booth. They commended HEU’s innovative measures and outcomes, particularly the contributions of the School of Future Technology. They also observed the practical application of HEU's innovations in undergraduate courses and expressed high praise for the university’s progress in talent development.
HEU’s exhibits featured award-winning science and technology projects created by students, showcasing their ability to excel in both domestic and international competitions.
