On December 21, the Northeast Five Universities Conference on Electronics and Information Engineering Program Development, alongside the finals of the First Radiotelegraph Transmitter Design Competition, was held at Harbin Engineering University (HEU).
The event, themed “Red Waves, Shaping the Future,” brought together experts and scholars from:
· Dalian University of Technology
· Northeastern University
· Jilin University
· Harbin Institute of Technology
· Harbin Engineering University
· Southeast University
· Nanjing University of Science and Technology
The conference focused on the reform of electronic engineering curricula within the context of emerging engineering disciplines. Participants explored innovative strategies to cultivate top-tier talent in electronics and information engineering.
The event attracted a distinguished group of leaders and experts, including:
· SUN Liang, Deputy Director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Communications Administration
· GENG Jing, Assistant to the President of Harbin Engineering University
· SUN Pengfei, Director of the Harbin Monitoring Station at the National Radio Monitoring Center
· PENG Yu, Executive Member of the First Committee of the National University Electronic Information Discipline Development Committee under the China Institute of Electronics
GENG Jing expressed hope that the conference would act as a catalyst for nurturing innovative talent in electronics and information engineering. He encouraged participants to enhance their skills and expertise through innovation and competitive activities.
PENG Yu emphasized the importance of the forum as a platform for the Northeast Five Universities to exchange ideas, foster mutual improvement, and collaborate effectively. He also highlighted the conference's role in advancing efforts to cultivate top-tier, innovative talent in the field of electronics and information engineering.
SUN Liang noted that, as key educational institutions in Northeast China, the Northeast Five Universities have a crucial role in advancing the integration of science, education, and industry. This initiative aims to contribute to the improvement of educational standards in the region's communications industry.
In his speech, SUN Pengfei reflected on the historical significance of the “Red Waves Through the Flames of War,” emphasizing the enduring legacy of radio waves. He encouraged students to explore the history and applications of these “red waves” and to push the boundaries of scientific innovation.
Leaders from the Northeast Five Universities also jointly inaugurated the finals of the “Red Waves” Radiotelegraph Transmitter Design Competition. The competition saw impressive participation, with 140 teams and nearly 600 contestants from the five universities. Ultimately, 6 teams received first prizes, 8 teams earned second prizes, and 11 teams were awarded third prizes. Teams from Harbin Engineering University performed exceptionally well, securing both the championship and third place.
