
On December 31st, Harbin Engineering University (HEU) hosted the New Year's Eve exchange meeting for alumni entrepreneurs in Heilongjiang, focusing on collaborative strategies to foster innovation and drive economic development in the region. GAO Shuchun, Deputy Mayor of the Qiqihar Municipal People's Government, and LV Kaidong, Minister of the Publicity Department at HEU, were in attendance, along with officials from the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education and the Harbin Bureau of Enterprise and Investment Services.
LV Kaidong highlighted that alumni from Heilongjiang have made significant contributions to the province’s social and economic development in the past year. Looking ahead to 2025, he called for closer collaboration between government, enterprises, and alumni. He emphasized the need for a deep commitment to Heilongjiang, urging stakeholders to strategically position themselves, pool resources, and work together toward mutual success in the province’s growth.
Leaders from alumni organizations at Harbin Institute of Technology, Heilongjiang University, and Harbin Engineering University delivered keynote speeches, outlining recent developments in alumni investment initiatives and the continued promotion of alumni engagement.
Speakers included representatives from Harbin, Qiqihar, and Jiamusi cities, as well as leaders from the Heilongjiang alumni associations of institutions such as Peking University, Zhejiang University, Renmin University of China, Jilin University, Chongqing University, and Yanshan University. Five alumni entrepreneurs also shared their insights. All expressed their commitment to uniting alumni networks, acting as bridges, and creating platforms that foster collaboration. Their goal is to attract more alumni entrepreneurs to contribute to Heilongjiang’s revitalization and economic growth.
Additionally, representatives from HEU's Office of Development Liaison, Asset Management Company, Continuing Education College, and key members of the Harbin Alumni Association attended the meeting.
