Recently, the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) unveiled its recommended list for the “First Batch of Outstanding Courses on China’s National Conditions for International Students and Sino-Foreign Youth Social Practice Activity Bases.” Associate Professor LIU Chang from the College of International Cooperative Education at Harbin Engineering University (HEU) has been honored with the selection of the "Introduction to China" course as an Outstanding Course on China’s National Conditions for International Students. In addition, the Harbin Military Academy Memorial Hall has been designated as a recommended base for Sino-Foreign Youth Social Practice Activities.

The "Introduction to China" course is a mandatory cultural class for all international students at HEU. It provides essential insights into China’s culture, society, and development, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the country. The course utilizes an engaging, interactive teaching model that emphasizes experiential learning, combining the “Chinese Language + Culture” framework with the “Happy Chinese” teaching method. Through this innovative approach, the course effectively narrates China's story, promotes its rich culture, and cultivates international students with strong Chinese language skills and cultural literacy. These students, supported by HEU’s academic strengths, are equipped to engage in cross-cultural communication and academic research in Chinese, thereby enhancing their understanding of Chinese culture and fostering cross-cultural exchange.

The Harbin Military Academy Memorial Hall is a cultural institution that offers a comprehensive view of the history of the Harbin Military Academy, highlighting its educational achievements and contributions to talent development and scientific research. It has been recognized as one of the first National Science Spirit Education Bases and one of the inaugural National Research and Practice Education Bases for Primary and Secondary School Students.
