On the afternoon of April 17, Harbin Engineering University (HEU) held its first Lifelong Education Joint Conference. The meeting was attended by Vice President ZHAO Yuxin and chaired by Assistant to the President GENG Jing.

Vice President ZHAO Yuxin outlined three key priorities for academic units to advance the university’s lifelong education initiatives: Raise Ideological Awareness: Recognize the importance of lifelong education and ensure efforts align with current trends, framed within the broader context of the university’s growth. This approach will enhance the university’s influence and sense of social responsibility. Strengthen Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate across departments to create a unified framework for continuing education. This includes optimizing educational structures, integrating and revitalizing resources, expanding service areas, and implementing policies that support the development of lifelong education. Standardize Operational Management: Prioritize the high-quality development of lifelong education by maintaining a clear distinction between management and implementation. The university should enhance oversight of projects, increase risk awareness, take proactive steps, and ensure actions are compliant, efficient, and effective. The ultimate goal is to develop a unique model of lifelong education that reflects the university’s distinct characteristics.
