From April 24 to 26, the “Smart Education Ecosystem” Seminar and the 12th Anniversary Conference of the East-West University Course Sharing Alliance took place in Beijing. The event attracted nearly 2,000 educators from over 500 universities across the country. Several groundbreaking AI-driven education and teaching innovations from the university were featured at the conference. Vice President ZHAO Yuxin participated in the expanded meeting of the East-West University Course Sharing Alliance Council and delivered a keynote speech during the Smart Education Ecosystem thematic interview session.

In his keynote, ZHAO Yuxin focused on the theme, “A New Smart Education Ecosystem at Harbin Engineering University.” He highlighted the university’s pioneering work in smart education across three key areas: the educational system, the ecosystem, and intelligent courses. The university's first major initiative was the launch of the “AI-Driven Education and Teaching Innovation Plan,” which introduced the “123456 + X” intelligent education framework. The second initiative leveraged the university’s unique strengths in “Three Seas and One Core,” integrating cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, big data, and blockchain to create a “Smart+” higher education ecosystem. Lastly, by utilizing advanced AI technologies like virtual reality and digital twins, the university developed Meta Innovation College—a shared digital platform that leads the way in digital transformation for education at Harbin Engineering University.
