The 2025 Asia-Pacific Special Summer Program on Ship Power, co-hosted by the College of Power and Energy Engineering and the College of International Cooperative Education, concluded from June 29th to July 13th. Nine students from Thaksin University and Kasetsart University, Ratchaburi Campus in Thailand successfully completed the program.
The two-week program consisted of specialized courses in ship power and Chinese cultural experiences. The College of Power and Energy Engineering organized nine well-designed professional lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions, guiding the international students to deepen their understanding of ship power disciplines while experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese culture.

Nine faculty members from the College of Power and Energy Engineering, including LUAN Yigang, LUO Hongliang, and HUANG Weidi, delivered lectures such as “Introduction to Power Plants” and “Advanced Optical Diagnostic Technology for Sprays and Combustion”. Through systematic study, the international students progressively gained a deeper understanding of ship power disciplines.

The closing ceremony was held on July 11th in Conference Room 204 of Dongli Building. LI Yanjun, Dean of the College of Power and Energy Engineering, along with faculty representatives, attended the ceremony.
LI Yanjun delivered a speech at the closing ceremony and presented completion certificates to the participants. He highlighted that the Asia-Pacific Special International Summer Program on Ship Power is a significant initiative to promote international exchange and cooperation and cultivate high-caliber talents with a global perspective. He expressed hope that more Thai students would pursue further studies in China, building bridges of friendship between the two nations.

This summer program is an integral part of the Ministry of Education’s 2025 “Study in China International Summer School” initiative. The activity established a multi-level, comprehensive exchange platform to deepen connections between Chinese and Asia-Pacific higher education institutions, contributing to educational collaboration and talent development in the field of ship power within the region.
