ZHANG Jie, Chairman of the Chinese Physical Society, highlighted that 2025 marks the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, celebrating the 100th anniversary of quantum mechanics. He emphasized that breakthroughs in quantum computing and communication could lead to a new era of information technology. With this in mind, the Chinese Physical Society aims to offer young physicists broader academic platforms, more international exchange opportunities, and stronger support for their development.

ZHANG Qixiang, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Heilongjiang Province, noted that this conference not only recognizes Heilongjiang’s scientific and technological innovations but also provides a valuable opportunity for learning and improvement. He encouraged the experts and scholars present to leverage their intellectual strengths, inspire ideas through academic exchanges, and achieve meaningful results in scientific research.

NI Peigen, Deputy Director of the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), affirmed the NSFC's continued commitment to supporting the development of physics. He urged researchers to build on the discipline’s strengths, embrace exploration and challenges, and contribute strategic insights for its long-term growth. He also emphasized the importance of addressing national needs, fostering high-end talent, solving core scientific issues, and maintaining the integrity of scientific funding.

SONG Yingdong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), introduced the university’s history and its distinctive approach to education. He underscored the importance of physics as the foundation of natural sciences, not only for exploring the universe’s mysteries but also as the cornerstone of technological innovation. In recent years, HEU has achieved significant advances in areas such as optical fiber sensing and quantum precision measurement, with its physics discipline now ranked in the top 1% globally according to Essential Science Indicators (ESI). He expressed his hope that the conference would spark new ideas and accelerate the development of the physics discipline.

During the meeting, the 2024-2025 Physics Awards were presented by the Chinese Physical Society to recognize Chinese physicists for their outstanding contributions to science and technology.

Since its establishment in 1999, the Chinese Physical Society Fall Meeting has become the largest, most comprehensive, and most influential academic event in China’s physics community. It plays a pivotal role in promoting interdisciplinary integration, fostering academic exchanges, nurturing scientific talent, and driving innovation.
