On December 12, a six-member delegation led by ZHANG Qinghuan, Chairman of the Trade Union of Guangzhou Shipyard International Company (GSI), and Zhao Xuan, Deputy Director of the Nansha Talent Development Bureau of Guangzhou, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for research and exchange. Discussions focused on talent cultivation, scientific research collaboration, and student employment. President YIN Jingwei met with the guests in the VIP room of HEU library, accompanied by Assistant President CHEN Hailong.

YIN Jingwei stated that GSI and HEU has a long-standing and close cooperative relationship. He expressed hope that both sides would further strengthen collaboration by jointly establishing research platforms, making concerted efforts and fostering innovation in key areas such as talent development, scientific research, and achievement transformation. Working together to tackle key technologies, cultivate high-quality talent, accelerate the application of scientific and technological achievements, and deepen the integration of industry, academia, research, and application would contribute new and greater efforts to national development.
ZHANG Qinghuan expressed gratitude for the university’s long-term support to GSI. He noted that HEU and GSI have a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation. He hoped that both parties would deepen all-round collaboration, promote two-way talent flow between the university and the enterprise, jointly undertake research projects in key fields, and fully integrate the talent cultivation process into all stages of research implementation. This would enable shared talent development, joint research advancement, and mutual achievement sharing, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of the shipbuilding industry.
ZHAO Xuan mentioned that Nansha District is rich in marine resources and is positioned to leverage the Bay Area, collaborate with Hong Kong and Macao, and engage globally, with intensified efforts to attract high-level talent. He hoped that this research visit would serve as an opportunity to promote the organic linkage of the innovation chain, industrial chain, and talent chain, providing strong support for regional economic and social development.
