
On April 8, a seven-member delegation led by WANG Decheng, Vice Chairman of Weichai Holding Group Co., Ltd., visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for research exchange. Vice President HAN Duanfeng met with the delegation in the VIP conference room on the eighth floor of the Office Building, engaging in discussions on deepening cooperation in areas such as shipbuilding, advanced equipment manufacturing, and green energy technologies. Assistant President CHEN Hailong attended the meeting.

HAN Duanfeng welcomed WANG Decheng and his delegation. He highlighted that Weichai Group boasts strong capabilities and shares a solid foundation for cooperation with HEU. He expressed hope that both sides would focus on key areas including shipbuilding, high-end equipment manufacturing, and green energy technologies to jointly establish innovation platforms, undertake major projects together, and accelerate breakthroughs in critical technologies and their application. He emphasized the goal of transforming the university’s academic and research strengths into the group’s industrial and competitive advantages, achieving mutual benefit, resource sharing, and joint development.
WANG Decheng stated that HEU, as a vital research and talent cultivation base in the fields of naval architecture, ocean engineering, and nuclear science, aligns closely with Weichai Group’s industrial strategy. He expressed hope for further deepening collaboration, with a focus on areas such as marine power systems and low-speed engines. He proposed advancing joint efforts in critical technology development, co-training of talent, cross-appointment of experts between the company and the university, co-establishment of research platforms, and international cooperation and exchanges. He also called for creating a seamless innovation chain from fundamental research and technological breakthroughs to industrial application, jointly setting a benchmark for university-enterprise collaborative innovation and contributing to the high-quality development of the shipbuilding industry.
