Beijing Anning Wei’er Emergency Fire Safety Technology Co., Ltd., founded by an alumnus of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), recently donated RMB 1 million to the university’s Education Development Foundation to establish an Embodied Intelligence Industry Fund.
The donation ceremony took place in the conference room of the College of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering, located in Building 61. Attendees included HAN Duanfeng, Vice President of HEU; TAO Tieniu, Chairman of Beijing Anning Wei’er; and Yu Xinlong, Secretary-General of the HEU Embodied Intelligence Industry Alumni Association.

On behalf of HEU, Vice President HAN Duanfeng expressed gratitude to alumnus TAO Tieniu and his company, while briefly outlining the university’s recent progress in intelligent technologies. He lighted that the donation represents both a strong endorsement of HEU’s research capabilities in embodied intelligence and a significant boost to the development of this emerging field. Han assured that the funds would be managed prudently to effectively foster technological innovation and industrial application of embodied intelligence. He also expressed hope for deeper university-industry collaboration, pledging that HEU would provide full talent and intellectual support to alumni-founded enterprises to achieve mutual benefit.

In his remarks, TAO Tieniu conveyed his deep gratitude for the education he received at HEU. As an alumnus, he stated, he has always cared about the university’s development. The donation aims to advance the frontier interdisciplinary field of embodied intelligence, support the university’s research breakthroughs, and foster talent cultivation in the industry. He also shared updates on his company’s transformation and upgrading, expressing his intention to leverage the university’s academic and talent strengths to enable two-way empowerment between the enterprise and HEU.

YU Xinlong, on behalf of the Embodied Intelligence Industry Alumni Association, apricated the donating company. He emphasized that embodied intelligence is a critical frontier for the nation’s future development and a key driver of the university’s disciplinary advancement. The alumni association, he added, will rally the strength of alumni in the industry, build a collaborative innovation platform between the university and alumni-founded enterprises, and strive to establish the association as HEU’s signature presence in the embodied intelligence field, thereby contributing to the university’s disciplinary development and talent cultivation.
A representative from the College of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering provided an overview of the college’s current academic programs and core disciplinary strengths.

Following the ceremony, the attending guests visited relevant laboratories at the College of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering.
