
On May 12, YANG Yixin, President of Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST), led a delegation to Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for research and exchanges. HEU President YIN Jingwei met with the visiting guests in the large conference room on the eighth floor of the main administration building. The two sides held in-depth discussions and pledged to deepen collaboration in areas including disciplinary development, talent cultivation, scientific research, and faculty team building. Also attending the symposium were NJUST Vice Presidents LI Qiang and DING Dazhi, Assistant President HAN Xiaomei, along with HEU Vice President YIN Hang and Presidential Assistant GENG Jing. HEU Vice President YU Zhiwen moderated the meeting.

YIN Jingwei welcomed YANG Yixin and his delegation. He noted that HEU and NJUST share the same roots and an enduring, inseparable historical connection. He expressed hope that the two universities would jointly advance disciplinary development, strengthen research collaboration, and engage in regular mutual learning, so as to enhance their overall capacity for university governance and contribute greater academic wisdom and strength to the nation’s development.

YANG Yixin remarked that NJUST and HEU are bound by common origins and a shared mission. Both institutions have distinctive academic strengths and complementary advantages, and have long maintained close exchanges and cooperation. He expressed hope that through this visit, the two sides could draw on each other’s best practices and pursue deeper collaboration in areas such as institutional innovation, interdisciplinary integration, scientific research, talent cultivation, and faculty development. He called for mutual support and joint efforts to accelerate the building of world-class universities.

Relevant administrators from both universities presented updates on talent cultivation, faculty development, and scientific research, followed by in-depth discussions and exchanges.

Before the meeting, YANG Yixin and his delegation toured the Origin Tracing Stone Monument, the Harbin Military Engineering Memorial Hall, and conducted field visits to the HEU’s panoramic smart classrooms and laboratories. They also received briefings on the university’s history, undergraduate talent cultivation, and scientific and technological achievements.
